December 2nd Advent Calendar

Dorthe's advent calendar that her brother, Morten, made for her. It's a bit different from what you'd expect - there are no little boxes in a calendar here. Instead, you have 24 individually wrapped presents, attached to a wallhanger, and you open one present each day. There's no hanging this baby on the wall though, it's THAT big: instead, it lies on the table. The chair at the end of the table gives you some idea of scale. The candle was the first present.  Posted by Hello

That is so lovely! My mother, ever since we were little, writes out her own little advent messages. Some of them are religious, some of them are family-oriented, some of them are the product of her insanity (updates on Rudolph's sinus infection). Either way, it's a nice family tradition, and the best ones have presents attached. Now she has to mail me mine, or email them, but I don't want to ever get through a holiday season without them.
